��Full Disclosure�?��?�.I have always loved complicated watches. The notion of a watchmaker spending countless hours on the bench assembling a perpetual calendar, tourbillon or grand complication, for me, has always represented the epitome of fine watchmaking or as the Swiss say, haute horologerie.

The latest trend in watchmaking is a reversion back to simplicity and purity�?��?�and I have to say that I like it. At the Basel and Geneva fairs this year, many of the fine watch brands showcased variations on the �??pure timepiece.�??

A few of my favorites�?��?� The pristine dials of the Piaget Antiplano are clean in every detail. Doing what a fine timepiece was meant to do, indicate time in an elegant pure way, uncluttered and unobstructed. Girard Perregaux gives us another fine example with their Vintage 66.

The Blancpain Villeret that George Clooney wore on the cover of Men�?Ts Vogue, looked to be the final touch to a great handmade suit. Glashutte Original debuted the Meissen this year and it is truly awe inspiring. I�?Tm still debating which of these I will add to my collection.

I must be getting old (I�?Tm 40 this year). It seems with every passing year I appreciated the simpler things, including what I wear on my arm.
