As one of the premiere gold jewelry designers, Gurhan Orhan enjoys a lot of celebrity patronage. From pop divas Gwen Stefani and Cher to film and TV stars like Courtney Cox Arquette and Jennifer Aniston, Gurhan gold jewelry is seen on celebrities of the highest profile.

Well, it’s still January folks, and H. Stern has received more press coverage in 2009 than most brands receive in an entire year!  First it was Fergies wedding, then the Golden Globes.  Now, we’ve seen H. Stern virtually blanket the SAG awards, and if that’s not enough, the brand was also featured on a variety of celebrities during Barack Obama’s inauguration festivities!

From teen sensation Miley Cyrus to actress Kerry Washington and BET Honors host Gabrielle Union, H. Stern seems to be sparkling in every nook and cranny of the celebrity universe these days.  And it’s not just one collection hogging all the fun, rather it’s designs from across H. Stern’s innovative and substantial catalog.

No this is not the Color Me Badd Reunion Featuring Yanni.

These two “rico suave” gentlemen giving the ever popular European “thumbs up” sign are Rossano Rubicondi and Demo Morselli. You may ask, “How would I know either one of dashing guys”? To be totally honest, you probably wouldn’t.

The happy Yanni Looking guy is Demo Morselli. He is an Italian singer – from what I can gather. I haven’t been able to dig any information up on him that is not in Italian – so there isn’t much I can actually tell you about him other then he sings.

The other gentleman with the slicked back hair and the Zoolander expression just might be more familiar to you. He has been on TV a few times – and  is freshly divorce from none other than Ivana Trump. Ivana married him April 2008 and was completely done with him by December of the same year.

Poor guy has nothing else to do but go party with Linda Evans ex-husband…(Kidding).

I wonder what he got in his 8 month marriage? At minimum he got a Baume Mercier Classima watch!

Seal is definitely “The Man”.

Seal is a bona-fide international super-star with a beautiful singing voice and even more beautiful wife. He has 3 kids – two biological – and one he adopted from one of Heidi’s previous relationship with international playboy Flavio Briatore.

Seal definitely seems to have a penchant for nice wristwatches. In the past he has been photographed wearing his-and-hers Panerai’s with wife Heidi Klum.

In this photo he is making a live appearance on the Italian equivalent of X-Factor. Instead of rocking the very Italian-centric Panerai on an Italian TV show – Seal seemed to have something a little more avant-garde up his sleeve.

If you look closely you will see that seal is wearing an Richard Mille!

A redesigned IWC Aquatimer watch collection made its debut at the 2009 Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie show in Geneva this past week.  The most noticeable change to this excellent collection of luxury divers is in the unidirectional bezels, which are now of the conventional external type a la the Rolex Submariner or Blancpain Fifty Fathoms watch.

I have to say, I was surprised to see these changes.  After all, IWC Schaffhausen–a watch brand noted for going that “extra mile” in engineering–made a name for itself with dive timepieces featuring the sophisticated crown-operated time lapse bezel.

Like most things, IWC’s changes to the Aquatimer watch line bring potential pros and cons, depending upon ones priorities and preferences.  The external rotating bezel has not earned its place as the “design of choice” for dive watches (from many brands) over
the decades for no reason–its straightforward, and time-proven. Hardcore divers, who rely on their mechanical watch as an essential backup tool, may find the change beneficial.   On the other hand, the crown operated internal bezel of the outgoing Aquatimer watch is uniquely IWC, and has a sleek, sophisticated aspect that is very, very appealing.  The most cynical critic would say that the IWC Aquatimer collection just became mundane.

That’s overly harsh, in my opinion.  The new designs are extremely appealing to the eye–if more conventional–and flipping the coin upside down, I’d say the lack of the extra crown makes the new Aquatimer watches look a bit less busy.  On the “cool engineering” front, connoisseurs will surely be happy to see the IWC mechanical depth gauge return in the Aquatimer Deep Two watch—a much-awaited horological sequel to the sophisticated, but short lived IWC Deep One.

The choices are clear, and decidedly pleasant: If you already have an IWC Aquatimer model with internal bezel, hang on to it.  If you don’t, but enjoy the design of the outgoing models, it’s the perfect occasion to get a soon-to-be dive watch classic.  And, if you’re like me and really like the appearance of the new model, it’s time to savor that delicious anticipation of acquiring a great sports watch a few months from now.

Young actress and fashionista Blake Lively is one of the hottest things going these days.  She became known to the world in “The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants” along with its sequel. Blake now stars as Serena Van Der Woodsen in the CW’s series “Gossip Girl” and has recently graced the covers of a variety of magazines including the latest issue of Vanity Fair.

Blake is known for her bold and impeccable fashion sense.  Growing up in Los Angeles and migrating to New York, she is the consummate metropolitan woman.  Her current role on “Gossip Girl” has exposed her to new levels of designer extravagance and has provided her the opportunity to wear some extraordinary clothing and jewelry.

Recently, choosing her own accessories for her character on Gossip Girl, Blake selected a stunning pair of golden South Sea pearl and diamond earrings from TARA.  The earrings were featured in the Gossip Girl episode “The Serena Also Rises.”  Blake’s choice highlights a trend in modern fashion which is recasting pearls as both youthful and elegant!

Scott Kay has built a name for himself as one of the premiere bridal jewelry designers.  However, not content to sit on his laurels, Scott Kay has entered the fashion jewelry world with a variety of unique designs.  His latest collection is a foray into the world of men’s jewelry – a tricky market, but one that he seems to understand better than most.

What makes the Scott Kay men’s jewelry collection unique is the intricacy of design and the extremely high quality of craftsmanship.  There are a handful of jewelry designers who have turned their talents toward men’s jewelry, but in most cases, the designs are fairly homogenous – often targeting the Harley-Davidson crowd.  Scott Kay has definitely upped the ante by introducing styles which are masculine, detailed and ornate.

I gather that Scott Kay took a nod from the world of fine timepieces by recognizing that men have a fascination with quality and intricacy.  Much of what men find so captivating about a fine mechanical timepiece is the design and craftsmanship of the movement.  Similarly, one glance at Scott Kay’s men’s jewelry collection will fascinate with the precise and elegant style.

Whether you like it or not Daniel Craig has reinvented the character we know as James Bond. The new James Bond is tougher – relies less on gadgets – and more on muscle to get him out of impossible situations. When Pierce Brosnan was 007 he would look at his Omega, push a couple of buttons and his trusty BMW 7-Series would come out of nowhere – shield him from bullets – and quickly take him to safety..My how things have changed…

So I can imagine that the folks at Omega were not too happy with Daniel Craig – who was recently photographed at a red carpet premier wearing a Rolex Milgauss (a brand 007 had worn for many years). With all the money Omega ponied up for the right to have Bond to wear an Omega in the movie, you would have thought they might have made a contract with him personally to wear the brand outside of the movie as well.

When you are Eva Longoria -  the world is definitely your oyster. She is one of the most naturally beautiful women in the world and is admired by men around the globe. If you don’t believe me ask the reader of Maxim Magazine who voted her Maxim’s Hottest Female Star in 2005 and 2006.

Check out the cover of this month’s US Weekly, and you’ll see Fergie and husband Josh Duhamel on their wedding day – look close and you’ll see some H. Stern bling!  In fact, Fergie is a long-time and very loyal H. Stern customer, and decided to go all H. Stern on her wedding day. The couple commissioned custom wedding bands as well as a custom engagement ring.

While Josh’s wedding band was based on the “Code” collection, Fergie’s wedding band and engagement ring were modeled on her favorite “Stars” collection jewelry.  Along with these pieces, Fergie wore a dazzling diamond “Venus” necklace along with a diamond rope necklace worn as a veil.  The collection of wedding jewelry was rounded out with diamond studs and a chunky diamond lizard bracelet.  Finally, the bridesmaids received custom diamond hair clips.

An impressive ensemble by any standards, Fergie’s H. Stern wedding jewelry is classy, fun and dazzling.  As a world renowned jeweler, H. Stern seems to be the perfect match for this pop diva.
