Bovet’s Fleurier Classical 42 Watch – Luxurious Simplicity At Its Best

bovet-watch1.jpgI’ve written here before about the almost magical quality possessed by Bovet watches–without a question among the most exclusive luxury timepieces in the world today.  While the Manufacture Bovet has really made a stir among collectors with its tourbillons,
minute repeaters, retrogrades and other complex tour-de-forces of haute horlogerie, simplicity–as is often the case–has its own equally compelling charms.

The Bovet Fleurier Classical 42 watch and its variants completely refute any argument that three-handed watches are somehow less interesting.  For what these Bovet watches may lack in things that twirl, spring back, or chime they more than make up for in sublime
and delightful nuances.  The dials are the soul of the Fleurier Classical watches, with their fine sunburst guilloche pattern and rich lacquer that makes every play of light an opportunity for admiration.  This is not to say that the self-winding movements in the Bovet Fleurier Classical are not works of art, as well–the hand-carved floral-patterned gold rotors are pure magnificence that make one extremely grateful for the existence of sapphire exhibition casebacks!

Then of course, there are those sinuous and beautiful serpentine hands in polished white or rose gold.  An elegant homage to original Bovet masterpieces from the 19th century, these hands–like the unique pocket-watch styled bow and crown–give Bovet’s Fleurier Classical watches the advantage of an unmistakable identity amidst the horological elite.
